Good Rally Community Guidelines

Good Rally exists so people can play more pickleball with people they like playing with. These Guidelines describe how we expect everyone to behave on Good Rally, and what happens when someone doesn't. They apply to everything you do on the service: posts, group and competition names, avatars, match records, drill-game submissions, and feedback.

The short version

Be decent to people. Record real games honestly. Keep other people's private information private. Don't cheat the ratings. If you see something wrong, report it — we look at every report.

1. Respect other players

• No harassment or bullying. Don't insult, threaten, demean, or pile on other players — on the app or in connection with games organized through it.
• No hate. No content that attacks people based on who they are — race, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, or anything similar. Zero tolerance.
• No sexual content. Good Rally is a sports app used by community groups. Keep avatars, names, and posts appropriate for a public court.
• Competitive trash talk vs. abuse: friendly rivalry is part of the sport. The line is targeting a person rather than their game. If a reasonable bystander would wince, it's over the line.

2. Play and record honestly

• Only real games. Record matches that actually happened, with accurate scores and the people who actually played.
• Respect the confirmation flow. It exists so your opponents can verify results. Don't pressure people to confirm false records, and don't refuse to confirm accurate ones out of spite.
• No rating manipulation. No fake matches, deliberate losses to lower your rating ("sandbagging"), coordinated results, or multiple accounts. Our integrity system flags suspicious patterns automatically and can quarantine ratings or void matches — always with an in-app explanation and an appeal path (Section 6).
• Guests: when you record a game against someone who isn't on Good Rally, enter their first name only — no last names, phone numbers, or other identifying details — and only for people who actually played.

3. Respect people's privacy

• Don't post anyone's private information — full names of non-users, contact details, home addresses, workplaces, or anything similar.
• Don't share screenshots of groups-only content outside the group it belongs to.
• Photos: your avatar should be yours. Don't use someone else's image without their permission.

4. Keep it legal and safe

• No content that is illegal, that infringes someone's copyright or trademark, or that impersonates another person or organization.
• No spam, scams, pyramid schemes, or unsolicited advertising. (Organizing paid coaching or club events off-platform with people you actually know is fine; blasting groups with promotions is not.)
• Real-world safety: organizers and players are responsible for their own events — choose safe venues, respect facility rules, and look out for each other. Good Rally supplies the scheduling and the math, not supervision.
• Off-platform behavior connected to Good Rally activity (for example, threats made at a session organized through the app) can be considered in enforcement decisions.

5. Reporting and blocking

• Report: every piece of content and every profile has a two-tap report option. Tell us what's wrong; we preserve the evidence even if the content is later deleted, and we review every report, with safety reports prioritized. When the review closes you'll get a notice that it was resolved — we don't share details of action taken against another account.
• Block: you can block any player. Blocking is mutual invisibility, and the other person is never notified.
• Reports about minors' safety are prioritized above everything else. [Beta note: the Early Access Program is 18+; this sentence matters at public launch.]
• Don't abuse the reporting system — knowingly false reports are themselves a violation.

6. Enforcement: what actually happens

We moderate under these published Guidelines. We don't pre-screen feeds, and we don't silently edit results — every enforcement action is recorded and explained in-app.

The ladder, for most violations:

1. Warning — we tell you what crossed the line.
2. Content removal — the content comes down; you're told why.
3. Temporary suspension — 7 days off the service.
4. Ban — permanent removal. Bans require a second review (or a mandatory cool-off period before the decision is final) so no one is banned by a single hasty click.

Severe violations — threats, hate, safety risks to minors, fraud — can skip steps, up to immediate ban.

Ratings-integrity enforcement is separate and precise: flags, rating quarantine, or match voiding with recomputation. It never silently alters results; every action comes with an in-app explanation.

7. Appeals

Every enforcement action tells you how to appeal. Appeals go to support, are reviewed in the order received, and get a written outcome. Tell us what we got wrong — reviews are by a human [during early access: the founder], and reversals restore what was removed where possible.

What we promise — and what we don't

We promise to review every report, to explain enforcement actions, to preserve evidence fairly, and to hear appeals. We don't promise response times, and we can't referee every disagreement between players — some disputes are just disagreements, and the confirmation and appeal flows are the tools for those.

Changes

If we materially change these Guidelines, we'll flag it in-app with the new version and date. The current version always lives at https://uprally.app/legal/guidelines, along with every previous version.
